I heard that you can use baking soda to whiten your teeth. I was going to try it, but I have braces right now. I know your not supposed to use most bleach/whitening treatments while you have braces, so should I wait until I get my braces off before I try it?

I wouldnt try any extreme bleachig methods (such as baking soda) without the supervision of your ortho....and if you ignore your ortho...i wouldnt try anything still because it could actually remove the enamel in the places that are not underneath the bracket...so when you get the bracket off you are left with a big, obvious stained square in the middle of your teeth - not pretty

Baking soda dissolves the top later of enamel on your teeth making them weaker and more likely to stain. Why not just try a gentle whitening toothpaste...one that takes around 8 weeks to show it's full effects...that way it isn't too harsh.

Its not a bleaching product. Its the soft abrasion that will remove the top stains. It is safe to use, brush gently and carefully with it.
