The only silverware I have is silver. It is a really nice set, but I use it for everything. It is a set from the 1920's/30's. Should I be using something else for everyday, or is pretty durable and ok to use?

Depending upon the condition, due to its age, it should be fine for everyday use. DO NOT however, put real silver into your dishwasher. Wash by hand, dry immediately, and expect to polish often. If you want to preserve the value of the set I would strongly suggest that you purchase a set of inexpensive stainless and store your good silver. This will be an even more valuable heirloom at a later date.

If it is vintage silver I would use it with pride. It is best washed by hand. I read once that the more use it has the more beautiful it becomes, you'll notice that best with the spoons. If your going to wash it in the dishwasher, be sure it doesn't touch anything stainless, as this will cause pitting of the silver.

You could get alzheimers and also don't smoke out of anything aluminum ( beer cans or tin foil ) !

SS 318 is good ! You'll have to rough it I guess
