I was watching an old episode of Superman the other day and in the intro the announcer says that Superman fights for "truth, justice and the American way". I was wondering how people define that now and if it has it changed since that show was made in the 1950's or even since 9/11?

I think "the American way" referred to freedom, opportunities, democracy, that sort of thing. Unfortunately back then, "the American way" was not always a reality for certain groups, especially where education, housing and employment were concerned. Although we're still far from perfect, I think we have made many significant improvements since then.

That was certainly a different time and was a motto from the Cold War. It was based on the belief that everyone has an equal chance to compete and achieve thier place in society. It was never true even then as there has always been entitlement to the rich and powerful. The very reason Socialism did not work is at play here. Human nature.

Truth Justice and the American Way. Wow. Still as true today as it ever was.

America is tolerant toward different religions, (despite the wars against Islamic Fascism, Muslims live peacefully in America)

America has equality ( anyone who works hard, is intelligent, has a little bit of luck and desire can make it big in America despite their birthright)

American laws are made by people who are elected by the majority of voters.

Well according to my favorite show of the '50's Superman, it consists of wearing a cape and some tights and poundin' on the bad guys.

Superman fought Cold War enemies in the 50s.

Once the Cold War ended, new enemies were created.

The US was not Communist USSR, but became Fascist Germany.

organic communism, in basic terms like anarchism/Libertarian Socialism, is a suited political philosophy in theory. it may in basic terms exist in small *communal* settings in spite of the undeniable fact that and not on a extensive scale, subsequently the 'in theory'. even though it rather isn't the easy information of the term "communism." i think maximum human beings's view of communism is that of Marxist/Stalinist Russia, which in functional operation replaced into no longer as sturdy via fact the political theories and amounted to a marginally authoritarian or totalitarian socialist state. this may be very practically opposite of what america of a is, or replaced into seeing as the way it sounds as though to be getting further and extra like that.
