To check if your hamster is dying check for any big lumps around its body that could possibly look like extra fat but is actually a tumor. Or monitor how much your hamster is eating and drinking, becasue if it is drinking more than normal and not eating much at all this could be a sign of a fever. Theses signs are often found when a hamster is over the age of two since there life span is at most 3 years.

Is there a reason you think she is dying? Is she acting strange at all? If she was injured in any way, you should take her to the vet. If she's acting strange, not eating or drinking, or if her hind end looks wet any of these are serious and she could die from it. If she's just old and slowing down that's normal. Hamster usually live about two years. If you see any symptoms of illness, please take her to the vet as soon as you can, hamsters don't do well with sickness and usually die if they don't receive medical care.

My hamsters got wet tail before they died. So if their tail is wet and their poop is bright green then they are pretty much done for. They will usually stay in one spot and not move when it gets bad.
