Most guys I know train with weights to get a stereotypical good looking body for the 'chicks'. What is the real purpose of working out one's body? You ladies out there don't hesitate to answer I want to hear your opinions, okay?

Cheers

If you train just enough for great health and wellbeing then you will look good as a side effect! Over training is a common thing I see from people and often a reason gym memebership expire without use. There is no benefit in training hard unless you plan to be in the olympics or are a professional athlete of some description.

These guy look great but they are NOT healthy.
They are constantly sick, cranky etc and this is a symptom of over training. The first thing to suffer in over training is your immune system and it goes down hill from there.

If you plan to train hard then get a coach or trainer that KNOWS what they are on about. Otherwise just do enough to be happy and healthy and you will look great I assure you.

I, for one, work out to feel good. When you exercise, your body naturally produces more endorphines and makes you happier. I like to tone stuff and stay flexible and I do it so my body can look AND FEEL good! Whether this is different for guys or not is beyond me, but doing something to impress others...well, it seems shallow. I don't care how great a guy looks if he can't have a good conversation with me!

People should train to be healthier. It doesn't really matter if a guy looks good but he cares nothing for being healthy.
He will probably just be really stuck on himself.

I'm gonna guess it's because our modern lives have become so sedentary that we need to seek out activity to keep our bodies active like they were originally meant to be.
