Ok my best friend who is like the little sister I never had is having boyfriend problems. She is (or was I'm not sure at this moment) going with my ex-boyfriend. I'm totally fine with it. Last night when she was at a friend's house he was there too and was cold to her the entire time. Then he tells her that he knows he's a bad boyfriend and he's trying to protect her from him. She called me this morning and told all this to me and now I want to have a little chat with him and find out what is going on with him. Should I do this and defend my friend or should I just stay on the side lines and cheer for her?

I don't think anyone needs to be involved. Maybe you should just let her read the book "he is just not that into you" It sounds like he is trying to get out of the relationship. If a guy told me that, I would just tell him your right and wlk away. It might hurt for awhile, but if he wants out(which is obvious) then he will continue to treat her bad. Best case senario he will just me more straight up and tell her he wants out at some point. The faster she can let go, the better off she will be.

Really bad idea! Stay on the sidelines. Do what you can to comfort your friend, but stay out of the relationship. If you get involved you take the risk of losing a friend.

Keep your nose out of it. You could lose both as friends.
