Decomposing flesh of any dead creature.... Seriously I can say that is the worst smell in the world!! I tell you it is nasty and you won't forget it if you happen to come across a dead animal.... I found a black bear carcass one time and it was the most revolting thing I have ever smelt in my life!! I was outside and still I had to change my clothes after because just standing near it made your clothes stink, and it made you gag like crazy! On top of that you can smell it for miles and I swear that is the sickest smell. Well I guess this is the same thing but... rotting bear bait is really disgusting too and is made up of all kinds of butcher scraps like lamb heads etc... that is really gross too.

My mum made me some chicken stock once, so I could make a chicken soup. I cleaned out the fridge and totally forgot to put the stock back. I had put it on top of a cupboard as that was the only space available at the time. I found it about 3 months later. The kitchen had stunk for ages but I thought it was the drains and just kept chucking bleach down it. Then I noticed the little container on top of the cupboard. Even the memory of it (and we are talking 6 years ago or so) makes me want to heave.

Sadly the worst smell I will remember for the rest of my life was in the surrounding area around Ground Zero after 9/11. It was three weeks after and they had sprayed a lot anti bacterial styff and that just smelled so bad. I think it was more because of 9/11 that the memory remained engrained in my mind, but I remember the smell distinctly and sadly.

One of my old teachers used to have a jam jar with germinating peas in. He let them start to rot, then made us smell it as a punishment. Disgusting, but everybody in the class wanted a sniff. People are very strange at times.

you can smell him half way down the street!
he came in my m8s house for an hour once, you could still smell him hours later, and thats with all the doors and windows open!

I've heard that the titan arum flower is supposed to be absolutely revolting. Apparently it smells like rotting meat/fish, in order to attract flies for pollination.
