Oh dear, you're going to get a lot of flak with this question. I'm in semi-agreement with you. Given the way these so-called Christians behave, the so-called morals they have and the way the preach hatred in the name of God to others, perhaps that should be the new motto. But not too many people will see it that way.

Ugh the hateful christians are just a small part of the christian population. I think that the majority are not this way, but loving caring and compassionate people. I'm gay and christian and I don't spread hate.

But I do think that god should be taken off of the money because of seperation of church and state. Our government is way to religious and I think thats where all the corruption comes in.

yes, you'll get flak...but sometimes, this seems so true! I do know many Christians who are very open and accepting. I have friends that attend the local MCC church. most Christians aren't like these, "haters," but, unfortunately, sometimes the few bad apples seem to spoil the whole bunch! it's obscene how the ultra right-wing conservative Bible thumpers try to blur the line of separation of church and state. the push for amending the federal constitution against gay marriage drummed a lot of homophobes out of the closet. shamefully in MO, where I live, those homophobes managed to amend our state constitution...MO was the 1st state to do it..it's sick! amendments are supposed to expand rights, not restrict them! it seems, in their eyes, that America is the land of the free...IF you're a conservative, white, straight, and Christian male!

I'm with the above writer...you're going to get a lot of flak for this one...but sadly, you're right.

I've heard it all before...the love of God (as long as it operates within a market economy), the love of Children (as long as our current generation doesn't have to worry about *their* natural resource problems) and the love of other nations/people (as long as they are "with us").

True, many Christian conservatives don't hold these beliefs. Yet they continue to elect representatives who espouse these beliefs. Poll after poll shows this.

While initially I might agree with your question and even find it amusing I would have to lean towards no. The political conservatives in this country have taken the christian right "hostage" if you will but for the most part the christians in this country are people with nothing but good intentions for those of others. the ones you see out their "preaching" their hatred and trying to force their beliefs onto you are just a small minority of them.

No. The political right has kidnapped the conservative Christian name and some of their leaders, but the vast majority of Christians in the U.S. are good people with good intentions. Some of them have different views, but most are open minded and accepting people, and when we say angry things about Christians, we forget to acknowledge the millions of progressive and moderate Christians who support us.

Sure, there are lots of hypocrites out there, but, I would be careful about painting all christians with such a broad brush. It's along the same line of thought as saying all atheists are evil people or all gays are child molesters. To spell it out for you, your reasoning is flawed.

No, because most Christians are very loving people, like myself. Although I don't like the homosexual lifestyle, I don't hate gays because Jesus told us to love everyone.

They hate sin, murder and perversion. Liberals live sinful existances, are promiscuis, engage in perverted sex acts and murder babies. God help us if liberals ever win power again!
