lot's of people just can't accept that quality of a car brand can change. 20 years ago ford had a bad reputation and not without it's reason. Today however Ford manufactures cars that have in my view the best mechanics on the market. To take another example 20 years ago the most reliable car on the market was Volkswagen, If you try the latest models I think you'll happily agree that over the last few years they've been slipping quality wise

Ford Haters

I guess you don't want my answer because I am not a ford hater ... but I would just like to say that I think Ford's cars are good quality and far more reliable than many other makes. I would buy a Ford above a lot of other car manufacturers. I think they are seen as a bit too ordinary and nothing special .. but I like them although I do drive a different make at the moment!

I think there just silly people who live off the old reputation of Ford vehicles breaking down. Things like the Pinto etc. Today Ford quality is every bit as good as Chevrolet or Dodge.

A recent reliability survey in Germany placed the German-built Focus higher than the supposedly unbreakable Toyota Corolla.
However, a lot of people in the UK have memories of British-built Fords of the 1970s and 1980s which suffered numerous problems (often water-related), while people in the US will be aware of the high number of recalls issued on the Mexican-built Focus, which has never met the standards of the German-built version sold in Europe.

I don't HATE fords but they r poorly built inside and out. First of all the interior is 99 percent plastic on the newer models you guys went from rattle traps to squeak traps. Second the engines on the newer models are good as far as the blocks go but the plastic under the hood tends to wear very fast. So all in all ford needs to make better plastic. JUST MY OPINION

20 years as a tech 4 @ a shop for every-car 2 @ a Chevy dealer and 12 @ a Ford dealer.... trust me Fords brake more often and for bigger dollars... about the only thing to compare are Dodges per Mercedes takeover.... Ford tops the list for crappp box's followed closely by Mopar junk Up top for reliable and cheep to keep are Toyota Honda VW and good Ole Chevys

The only ford that I had left me stranded on the highway 4 times. I believe I was sold a lemon. One day I was leaving the post office and the wheel would not turn because something on the rod broke.

I like cars that are American. Ford or not. People are just ignorant. I own 2 fords and a Chevy right now. Really I have to admit my fords are kinda better built than my Chevy is.
