The wording of your question?
Posits a sense . . .
That the passage of TIME has an effect on beliefs?
This, I believe, is realistically manifest in our historical records.
That once an apparent reality is considered?
All subsequent input --- then becomes redundant rehashing?
How can this (your reality) be so?
Without a 'proof' positive (absolute) and/or possible - nothing philosophical can be considered redundant.

Philosophy is the love of learning, so how does learning get redundant?....Check your dictionary! Truths bend as our world change but philosophy seeks wisdom too.

Every discipline can get like that, philosophy helps one to expand their intellectual horizons. To be broad minded, not narrow minded. There are philosophers that I have read that I don't agree with, but I understand their positions. The only other discipline as fasinating as Philosophy is Mathematics.

Not really, aside from the fact it deals with all the big questions it also gives you a set of really useful mental skills such as the abillity to analyse, think logically and spot bullsh**t.

There are really only two questions in philosophy: why are we here, and what happens after death...the rest is fluff.
