Use platex bottles the kind with the inserts. You push the air out of the bags and baby doesnt get as much air that causes hicups.

Make sure you're burping him during his feedings as well as after.

Generally in bran new little ones its just part of the digestive system learning to function. Although sometimes, if the hiccups are followed by gas and colic it could be the formula he's eating, or something in your breast milk from the foods your eating.

It should pass in a few days or a couple weeks. Just keep him burped.

I used to rub my daughter back or pat her like i was burping her sometimes it helped and sometimes it didn't. I asked my doc and he said its when they get full kinda like a over flow they hicup or spit up but the older she will get the less she will have and she will be fine. sometimes it sounds like it hurts them but it don't. They say babies don't need sugar in their diet when they are little either.

It's just because his little body isn't mature yet. They really don't hurt him. It's more upsetting to mom and dad to watch. I found that nursing sometimes helped my babies get over the hiccups.

Always make sure you burp your baby after every feed! It usually means there is still some "bubbles" left!
