If you want a moving company (Allied van lines, United van lines, Bekins, etc), which I assume you are, since you are asking about packing and unpacking...
The price will vary depending on how far you are moving, how many rooms you have, if the company will be totally packing you or if you are doing some on your own, how many guys will be needed and many other factors.
Most companies have a minimum as well. For instance, if it only takes 2 hours for them to pack you, you may have to pay a minimum of 4 hours. Also, if the truck can't get right to the door they may include a shuttle charge. If you have a piano there is an extra charge.
Call around and ask for some quotes. There is no set price and there are alot of things can add up quickly.

Also, don't fall for the unpacking!!!.They will charge you for it, but all the unpacking consists of is the crew slicing the boxes open , lifting the boxes off your stuff and removing the boxes. They usually will not stay and put anything away. (Alot of people are fooled by this and it isn't usually explained)

Good Luck!

I moved from Milwaukee to Chicago and it was $4,300. But, I didn't do any of the work. They packed me and unpacked me. My fiance moved from Kalamazoo to another point in the UP (about a 7 hour drive away) and it was only around $500. You can keep the costs down if you do some of the work yourself.
