I wouldn't suggest trying it if it all possible, even though I have delivered dozens of babies in my lifetime, I even get nervous each time. If there is an emergency and can't get the women to the hospital, call emergency services, they are well trained in this. But if this were to happen DO NOT CUT THE CORD!! It needs to be properly clamped off or the women or baby could bleed to death. As someone said before just catch the baby and place it bare skin to bare skin on the mother's chest until help arrives. Do not encourage the person to push because you want to experience child birth first hand. There are so many factors involved when delivering a baby, and if you are not trained to do so, it could be a horrible disaster

In case of emergency, call emergency services. Babies usually just come on their own, so there's no delivery involved. Just catching. Keep baby warm and DO NOT cut the umbilical cord. The medics or hospital can do that. Damage can occur to the baby if the cord is cut too soon or too short.

You can get books on it, incase of emergency. Generally you just catch, since its the mother who does most of the work. You call the squad as soon as you find yourself in such a situation, and usually 911 can talk you through the event.

You dont cut the cord, you tie it off and leave it for the parimedics. They will make sure it is clamped right and clean.

this is not first aid that everyone needs to know as babies usually take a few hours to arrive ,and you do not cut the cord ,just learn to spell first, and leave delivering babies to medically trained people
