Lincoln's objective was not to free the slaves, His objective was to disrupt the ability of the south's production capability and morale,
I know by now that you are aware the Civil War was fought over the issue of secession, Not slavery?

Oh and all rebublicans are not racist bigots, those who are just seem to be in the forefront Like our Al Sharpton. Quiet hardworking folk don't sell papers.

Well, while I agree with you that all republiucans are not racist, If you read some of Lincoln's personal quotes, he said he only freed the slaves because he thought it would help win the war. He said something like "If I had thought that freeing the slaves would not have won the war, I wouldn't have freed them" And democrats and republicans had a lot of different views on things then than they do now.

Why do you think nothing changes in wel over a century? Besides, Lincoln disdn't free the slaves till halfway through the civil war, and allowed Kentucky to keep the slaves at first.

The truth of the matter is that Lincoln did not care if he freed slaves. Slavery was a economic conspiracy between the north and south. In a speech Lincoln gave to congress he clearly stated that -if I can have the union together and still have slavery then so be it- the "he freed slaves" is historically inaccurate. But the real question is why do you continue this useless debate of dems vs. repubs?

Are you a sweet SHIRAZ? Work on your English, get a grip on American History and know this...... Slaves have never been freed anywhere. Who cares about the civil war now anyways?

Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation did not free one single slave. Slavery was ended in the U.S. with the 13th amendment

Lincon bears absolutely no resemblance in any way to Bush or the republicans of today. Nor do democrats reflect their predecessors. It is silly and simple of you to try to compare them.

Because back then, the Republican party were the liberals.

In case you haven't noticed, a few things have changed government wise in the past 140 years.
