Do it enough, be willing to screw up sometimes and you'll get over it.

Just get up there and do it. I teach college students and the first day I ever stood in front of a class, I was scared out of my mind. I was pretty much the same age as my students too, which didn't help matters.

I basically let myself feel the fear, and was honest about how nervous I was with my students. They were very kind and understanding. It also helps to use humor.

After a few times, you will feel no more stagefright. It will be natural.

P.S. Don't use alcohol to overcome stagefright. I knew a singer once who did this and what happened was that even months later, she could not get on stage without the alcohol.

You haven't mentioned whether you go on stage for public speaking, acting or singing? For public speaking, I would suggest get onto the stage with the thought that you are just going to speak to a group of friends, as you would do informally. After all, its just a group of people out there and you are going to speak to them NORMALLY as you would speak to any other person. Secondly take your time, never be in a rush. Thirdly, start enjoying the very thought that you are getting an opportunity to go on stage and that you are going to make the most of it....!

Go on to the stage as if you are taking a stroll in the garden and start as you do in front of a mirror.

Some people never do, but they're still great on stage. They channel that fear into their performance. You can, too.

i am a singer among other things, and what i did is pertent i was alone singing to myself or singing to my wife.close your eyes if you have to.when its over and people are chapping, hollering, and going nuts over it,and as you walk off stage and people stop you to tell you how great you were you will be hooked and the fear will be gone.i promise it works.

Easy, just believe that you definitely know something more than the audience and thats why they are sitting to watch you perform

The most common lesson...view your audience as all naked. They cannot harm you without any clothes and they become vulnerable. That makes you in charge.
