Rule of thumb, If you have to ask other people, then no.
Getting a tattoo should be a hands down all or nothing decision. Seek within your heart. The ink will not be on anyone but yourself. I suggest you think long and hard about advantages and disadvantages, then decide.

Not. What could be so timeless and remain appealing to you for the rest of your life? When I see so many aged people with tattoos you can't even make out what they are because of the wrinkles. Plus you can tell that some of the artwork is completely out of fashion... it might have been popular 20 years ago, but now it looks worn-out and dull.

What ever you decide, NOT ANYONE'S NAME. Be sure the placement is one that is one that can be covered and not offensive if you have to wear a sleeveless dress, bikini or low cut dress! I have a few. All very tasteful, flowery; I don't think I would choose to do it again. However, it's true: they are addictive..watch out!
And Mike's right. They fade. Mine are in a style called 'sumi'. It is a lighter outline. Black becomes thick and blurred. I had mine way back when, before the fad took off. They still look fresh, believe it or not. But, as I said one is enough!!

It's definitely up to you. But search long and hard before you get one because they're permanent. After I got married, it took me over 10years to decide on one, now I have 3 (7 years later) and am contemplating another. All of mine can be covered with ease if I need to, though.

As tattoos are permanent one must search deeply to find out for themselves.

Got a tattoo 20yrs ago, long before it was fashionable for girls to have them , luckily I was smart enough to have it on my butt. I hate it, its ugly, not pretty. and does nothing to enhance my femininity, think long and hard cos once on they are very hard to get rid off (and even that leaves scars)
