no, you only have about 5 weeks left, it should be about 4, but doctors are humans and can mis calculate, babies do gain the most fat the last month, but i bet your baby weighs a bit more than 2 pounds good luck!

to me no BUT the doctor would have told you if they thought it was a issue if they did not say just call them. A BABY gains the MOST the last few weeks even as much as a pound a week the last few weeks. BOYS tend to be a tad heavier then girls my son was born at 36 weeks NO DAYS he weighted 7 pounds 1 oz the doc said that was big 4 36 weeks average would be between 5 and 6 pounds at that stage. My daughter was born 37 weeks 2 Days she was 7 pounds 1 oz also. I'm now only 21 weeks my ultrasound said my son this pregnancy was 1 pound even at 21 weeks which is a bit more then average but not HUGE. that web site SOMEONE GAVE YOU WAS 4 A 27 week pregnancy NOT 34 weeks at 27 weeks the baby should be over 2 POUNDS

The last month is when the baby buts on the waight. every baby is diffren't. in its groth padern . one you could be out on your dates buy a week or two. unless you have a medical problem, that you have not shared. my daughter was due march 7 1980 , a month befor I was to diliver her, my doctor wanted to give me a amusantises, he thinks my baby was to small as well .he wanted to check to see if the baby was metaly retarded . or that I got my dates wrong and the baby wasn't due for a onther two months .I said my baby is due march 7 and I do not whant a amio! the baby was just fin . sure inough she arived on march 7 and she waight 5bl 7oz and she was the perfect little baby she was short plump eyes wide open. and only 17 inches long . she was so cut, that I never got a chance to hold her, the nerses had her all the time. she was just like a dall nothing wrong with her at all and now she is 26 years old and 5"9 and a brain and still butifull as ever. so unless there are problems that you are not sharing medicaly . I hope you are eating well and taking vitamins and not afraid to gain a little waight . if your baby is kicking you and moving around don't worry about it .some reson beyond are control the baby is small but I am shure when it is born it will grow and make up for it . what my problem was was my blasenta would not grow and the baby wanted to live so she stayed small . becouse her home was. you could be having the same thing. but like I said ,if it is kicking and moving around . you still have time yet , it might evin be late till it gains the waight. and strees will not help you so relax and let mothere nature take its course and no matter what you will love that baby always . gfod bless you

That does sound a little light, but babies grow very rapidly during those last weeks. Even at a 1/2 pd a week, that would put you having a baby that will weigh around 4/12 to 5 pds. The average weight for babies is around 6. +ozs. If you're really worried talk to your Dr. That's what he/she's there for. Good luck and God bless. I hope you have a beautiful, healthy baby. :)

That seems small..my daughter was born at 34 weeks, two weeks growth restricted and weighed 4 lbs 5 oz.

But it is only an estimate...there is no real way to tell you what a baby weighs while it is still in you. The day they induced the hospital ultra sound tech told me my baby was going to be over 6 pounds.

Your baby is probably just fine!

at 35 weeks your baby should be ok. Yet doctors can NOT tell you excacually what they weigh! My sister just had her baby the 7th and the week before she went into labor they told her the baby was 1 pound will lets tell you she was 7 something and that is NO LIE! Relax everything will be fine!

No. My daughter was born at 35 weeks weighing 2 pounds 10 ounces. She was considered severe IUGR(interuterine growth restriction). Also SGA (small for gestational age). She spent 2 and a half months in the NICU. My doctor did not know this until the day she was born. I was told that he should of known because I kept losing weight and my belly wasn't growing. If your baby is that small and has a stay in the NICU, learn everything you can. Do as much for him/her as they will let you do.

It sounds like a small baby. Generally babies put on the bulk of their weight from 34-40 weeks, since most of their vital functions are done maturing. The average for babies at your gestation is a little over 5 pounds.

If there were concerns your doctor should have told you at the time of the visit.

God iam sick of lame asss doctors that dont provide the services people pay them for. I would lose this one and get another, more competant doctor for your next pregnancy.

They might be off in their measurments. My son was born at 29 weeks and he was 2 pounds 15 oz. At 35 weeks your baby should be closer to 4 pounds.

ur doc can only estimate ur baby's weight by using certain parameters..ur 35 weeks...is ur doc sure abt ur dates? are ur dates correct? did the doc explain anything abt the size of ur baby? u still have another 5 more weeks to a complete 40week term pregnancy...and an ideal birthweight for a baby is more than 5.5pounds...did ur doc elaboratel on wat cud be the reason ur baby is small...are u small sized? hows the liqour amount? is ur baby kicking the required minimum 10kicks a day? hows ur weight gain so far? Do u have any hypertension during ur pregnancy? these questions should have been answered by ur doctor? I m a medical student and when I see a lady who seems to have a pregnancy smaller than her dates I enquire these things to rule these out as possibilities why the baby is small...but u r still 5 weeks away...so hopefully ur baby will be fine..jus go for checkup...and keep count of the babies mvmt...if u feel less than 10...I suggest u go see the doc..
