You need to check all the wiring (harness) to see if any wires were burned through. Aslo, check to see if any ground cables were burnt off. There may be a problem that is simple.

sure isn't fun is it! I had a Nissan Titan in the shop a month ago the same thing a bolt of lighting struck near enough to fry all the computers. Some times wiring from the computer is also melted. Most computer use what we call vehicle reference a five volt signal check to see if. 5 volt exists at throttle switch distributer. There may be a ground and 12v at those plugs too were just interested in 5v for now. Sometimes an item shorted when you unplug the throttle switch for instance 5v reference comes on to all the other units and the truck starts.

Lightning can damage a lot of electrical things. First thing I would look at would be all fuses and fusable links; they're easily fried. If that doesn't fix it, you will need to get a wiring diagram and multimeter and start going over the wiring, looking for things that should be getting power but aren't. Good luck. This will not be easy.

Your key words here are "almost cranks but won't" Start looking at the battery, battery cables, starter and starter cables. If it does not even crank you can change the air in all the tires and it won't help.
