Brought the Observer today...not my usual paper, but interesting story on the front..
I going to answer this question in the negative, because I would buy any newspaper (this does not include the Sport, as this contains no news) as long as it is not the Daily Mail or Mail on Sunday....These really are newspapers written for people who like to complain about complaining....

When in Ireland, we read the International Herald Tribune and, some days of the week, The Guardian and the Irish Independent. Why? Because they are all excellent sources of news and editorial content. In Florida, we have a subscription to our wonderful, totally independent local paper -- The St. Pete Times. I miss all of its quirky stories about alligators, sharks, and crazy people. Also very good editorial content.

I used to buy the Times because i found it informative but recently have started buying The Independent. Cant really say why i changed...oh yeh i read somewhere that its a good way to become more creative if you change your newspaper often.

I buy the local rag because the main newspapers are full of celebrity trash.
I also buy The Mail on Sunday because I like the crossword. Sad eh?

I get the Daily Telegraph on a Saturday and the Sunday Times on a Sunday. I like their viewpoints. I hate the Guardian, Sun, Mail, Mirror, Express etc.

The Guardian. It's a refreshing change from the doom & gloom tabloids & puts stuff into perspective. It's also quite happy to criticise & self-examine itself (unlike The Sun's "We're great, cos we are" attitude) and analyses in great detail. As well as that it's got great supliments & can be quite light-hearted at times.

Daily Record on Saturdays. has the puzzle I have all week to fill in and get the answers the next Saturday which I fill into a book for future reference. It's exciting to see how many I get right.
also has recipes like your granny used to make.
The whole weeks tv guide as well and not forgetting two sudoku puzzles to fill in.

Saint Louis Post-dispatch. My Dad used to delver newspapers for them and he always brought home a copy. My Dad and I (the only ones who usually read it) liked it so much, that after he left that job we susciped to it.
