Im curious about those who are young(or old) that dont have to work another day in their life. Where you born into the money? Did you work hard to achieve it? What is it like to be really free? What is your mindset towards life? Peace.

True wealth is home, happiness, and health.

All suffering is a result of desire...

Okay, yah, I don't have any money :-)

Rich compared to what. It is relevant. Personally I retired when 53 and have not had to work for my living since. I do work when I want to and at what i want to do. Not always for money either. The secret is simple. When young begin to pay you before you pay any other bill. That is, set an amount from your income to put away for when you get old. I always made it ten percent but many times paid myself more. I started when I was 14 and after the 40 years of this I sure didn't have to worry about how to pay for. The only time I used credit and paid interest is when I bought my first house. It took me many years of not having but I sure am glad I did it that way. It does work.

I'm not REALLY rich, but I have more than enough. Though I work fairly hard, my success has been more a product of dumb luck and being in the "right place at the right time" than anything else.

Most people in the West have more than they need, but believe they can make themselves happy by having more, but it simply isn't true. If your salary is $25,000 and you are a miserable wastrel, then a salary of $250,000 or $2,500,000 will just make you a rich miserable wastrel!

Nope... earn about 11k /year (£ uk - about $18k?)... live at home with my mom who's on about 40k... pay my rent and dues, there's enough to have a little fun with left over. A bit more would be nice just for comfort (and to pay off the student loan!), but being stony broke for a fair bit of my time at university taught me the pleasures of the simple life. A few friends, some beers, maybe a camping trip to the beach... sorted.

Rich. How rich? There is no end to this rich syndrome. You should be rich enough to meet your needs. All the other goodies should be just beyond your reach. This will give you inspiration to work for them. Little joys when you reach a milestone and you push your dreams a little further. No end to this mirage. But it is better to be rich than poor.

I'm rich..but not with money.. with my family and loved ones. If you are satisfied with what ever you have you will definitely feel free and at peace.

Money makes you materially settled. To be rich is to know your place in life and to enjoy yourself and others in that environment.
