I have 4 silver dollars in the same tank with many guppies and they are having babies and i'm concerned of whether or not the silver dollars might eat the babies.

I have many plants for them to hide in, but the dollars like to eat the plants too lol.

The silver dollars will eat guppy babies, in general fish might eat anything that can fit in their mouths. Silvar dollars mostly eat plant-based food, but baby guppies might be too tempting to pass up, especially if your fish are used to eating occasional live foods.

Guppy babies are delicious eating for all other aquarium fish. If you want to raise guppies you should keep them separate from other fish larger than them. I personally have seen silver dollars nibble on the tails on guppies and then a little later -- no more guppies, babies and all!!!

Both the silver dollors and guppies will eat the babies. So, get a breeder box, seperate them, or have lots of hiding places and plants.

ALL fry are potential food. HOWEVER if you put floating plants in the tank they will have good hiding grounds until they are old enough to survive.
