NO, certainly not. Ferrets need a LOT of attention, no matter what some people tell you on here.
They need at least 4 hours of playtime outside the cage daily, and they do need interaction with you, so you cannot just turn them lose and go about your business.
You have to feed and water them daily, take the time to potty train them and then scoop out their potties at least TWICE A DAY. Then, once a week, you have to completely wash out their cage and change their bedding(I use old t-shirts, they're washable) and wash their hammock. Ferrets need a bath once in a while, though no more than once a month or less. They need their nails clipped once or twice a month and their ears and teeth cleaned. If you keep them and their bedding clean they don't smell too bad, though they'll always have a bit of a musky odor.
Ferrets can run up quite the vet bill as they get older as they are prone to certain diseases like adrenal disease or insulinoma, so you better sock away some money in a vet fund when you first get them, so you'll have it when the time comes.
Ferrets are great, I love mine to death, but if you already know that you are that busy, try something else.
And THANK YOU for asking questions FIRST instead of just running out to get one. I hate people that do that. They are the reason there are so many animals sitting in shelters waiting to be adopted, just to be put down because noone ever came for them. If you should decide that you CAN make the time for one, go to www.petfinder.com and find one that is looking for a forever home. I adopted two males I found on there and I'm glad I did.
Good luck to you.

First of all you might want to consider whether or not you'll keep the ferret in a cage/crate while you are not home. Next, take into consideration the number of hours that the ferret will be in the cage because it is not fair to leave the ferret in a cage all the time. Additionally, you must allow the ferret plenty of out and play time when you are home because they need lots of exercise AND if I'm thinking correctly I believe that they use litter boxes and needless to say if this is the case they'd need to be cleaned out and/or changed on a regular basis so as to avoid illness and disease from expose to the feces and the horrible odor of course!

I have two ferrets and the DO NOT stink. They are great pets, they don't need much attention, as long as you can clean out thier cage about once a week. They are very playful and wonderful pets. If I could, I'd get twenty of the little rascals. A ferret would make a wonderful pet!!! I love em.

NO. Ferrets stink. I mean 100% of the time, they have a musky odor that gets on your clothes (and believe me, folks will notice even if they don't tell you. Pick up a ferret at the store...that is the musky stink they have even after a bath!) and they POOP all the time. They almost all come fixed and descented, and they sell foods and addititives you can put in their water..to supposedly make them stink less...but if you plan to date..forget a ferret.

Also, you have to clean their cage DAILY, and their poo is like doggy poo...piles, in corners, messy and smelly. Plus you may get them litter trained, eventually...but only in their kennel/crate. Once you let them out, they go in all corners.

Lastly, consider a bird like a cockatiel (funny, mimic sounds like doorbell, words, phone, microwave) or even mice. The birds don't really smell and love toys, treats. Mice do smell, but you don't need to clean their cate every single day. Plus, with both of these, they can be fed feeders that last a few days if you are away long.

Anything you get and intend to hold in your hand, you need to play with every day or so. Or they get nippy. And never, EVER feed an animal directly from your hand or they will nip at it when they see it coming at them.

GOOD LUCK!

I have 2 of them. They are awesome pets. They do like attention but can entertain themselves. Most of their time is spent sleeping or playing with each other

They could bite through the cage while your away and ruin your house. Try a hampster or iguana instead.
