Ok suppose God looks down at Earth and says "WOW there are WAY too many people down there.. I am gonna make some of them sterile..." and those people go to fertility doctors and get stuff done so they can have kids.. do you suppose those people are going to hell?? and condemming their kids as well??

** I posted this in Religion too - but got the idea from reading so many questions here **

I totally see the logic of your question...and the contradictions of certain people who would impose their beliefs on others...
by the way pro-lifers talk, every woman who gets pregnant does so by 'God's will", thus having an abortion, they'd say, is against his will...
And by that logic, it should follow that those who CANT get pregnant--their condition is by His Will, so using artificial insemination would be playing god--going against his will---just as an abortion, according to them, would be!

They need to make up their minds---they can't have it both ways...also---why would it be 'his will' that only the rich can use this method to get pregnant? Does he hate poor people who don't have tens of thousands of dollars disposable income? If not, why shouldn't they have equal opportunity for IVF?

Also, in their logic, if 'god wants the IVF to happen, it will'----then, according to them, cloning should be ok---if he didn't want any attempted cloning to take place, the cloned embryo would simply miscarry! It seems these people want to pick and choose science at their own convenience!

Well, that's just a horrible question. I happen to be a religious person who experienced years of infertility and 5 miscarriages-I now have 2 beautiful children, one born 11 years after the other. They are both miracle babies and I believe that if God wanted some people to be sterile, he would not have allowed for the invention of infertility specialists, clomid, metformin, humegon, etc. I believe that my children are destined for wonderful things, since neither of them was even supposed to survive the pregnancy and I thank God every day that they are here on this earth! Believe me, neither my husband, myself or my kids are going to hell, but perhaps you are for asking such a question!

I never looked at it that way... my theory...
if God didn't want them to have children, even after the work of the dr, they wouldn't ever get pregnant. simple as that. I think the big guy is in control enough to give them he opportunity to see a fertility dr so that they can have the joy of parenting. I don't think it's undermining God's authority when you see a doctor to get pregnant.

Why is it that some people only believe in God when they are blaming him? Maybe its a way to get some wonderful children adopted that would otherwise have bad childhoods in fostercare. Maybe its a way to appreciate what you do have. Or maybe there are things happening that will never be possible to explain.

That is always a possibility.

The Lord has power to open and close wombs at his whim.

The Lord is trying to tell wealthy people to adopt children from lesser circumstances. Instead, the wealthy are spending money and popping pills and wind up with multiples or nothing.

I don't think so. I went through 13 years of infertility and I'm now mom to 5 kids. I'm positive that G-d wanted these children to be here :-)

I don't believe that bad things happening to people are the will of God. I believe He does allow bad things to happen to us, but they are not of Him. Are they a test? Possibly, I don't really know. It is impossible to know the mind of God. However the desire for children is a God given desire - designed to populate the earth, thus I cannot imagine that God would condemn us or our children for seeking to act on that desire.

I do not think we will go to hell for going to a infertility center. If god did not want us to have a baby then he would still prevent it. It is in god's will if we will have a baby or not!

why would they go to hell for having children? people look way to far into things. live the life you have been given to the fullest and worry about everything else later.
