"Shut The F**K Up". Just kidding. LOL Just tell them you have you get going now and leave. If it was me, I wouldn't be offended. Not much offends me.

You can't.

I'm a talker, I talk continuously, about anything and everything. Not only do I talk but I am opinionated. What a combination, huh.

The best way to stop us is to distract us. Quite easy to do if have the means in front of you. Like someone else to talk to, either on the phone, at the mall, parties, even a walk around the block, someones bound to come along and you get a reprieve.
An activity/hobby is another good distraction, fixing something to eat, being on this site offering advise to others (this one he loves), going to work or just doing jobs around the house.

He has tried everything to keep me quiet. From ignoring me (which I just repeated what I was saying until he answered), to telling me to shut up (hurt my feelings and I wouldn't answering him at all for a few hours) and even walking out of the house (I cried every time he came within sight of me for 2 days).

I come from a family of talkers. When the females all get together it's every man for himself. Outsiders love to be around us for we make them feel welcome in our circle, eventually we hit on a subject they know about. I think it's like a disease really, an alcoholic can't stop at one drink, an over-eater doesn't stop at one donut, a kleptomaniac doesn't stop at one item...well a talker doesn't stop at one conversation.

Short of keeping us on medication where we are nothing but zombiees I'd say there is not much you can do but keep telling us to shut up...hey, it hurts but we get over it and start on a new topic.

There isn't just bite the bullet and in a polite way tell they what your feeling. There going to be hurt but they will get over it and you will have a bit of peace and quiet. If they don't to damn bad...

Im not offended when people ask me to be quiet. Sometimes its nervousness, other times its boredom and also Im a hyper person. Try to be kind and let them know that it bothers you. If they cant handle the truth to bad.
