We had no choice but to date online and talk on the phone. She live in California and i lived in indiana. we were seperated by 2,000 miles and a contineantal divide.

Tell her thanks for the memories and move on. You said that you have a new girlfriend so don't let her bring you down again. Send a email back telling her that you have moved on and suggest that she does the same. Then go to your girlfriend and give her a big kiss and tell her how much you love/like her. Forget all about the ex girlfriend. Good luck.

I'm thinking maybe she couldn't handle the whole 'Internet" dating thing, you think? Maybe there are other circumstances that helped in making her decision? Even if you neither one want a relationship doesn't mean that you can't write her back and tell her EXACTLY how you feel (why do men think if they open up their being weak?) and anyway remain friends. You know there is A reason you two met and even if things didn't work now doesn't mean that later in life you won't meet and still have the same feelings as now only for whatever the differences could be you date and marry and live happily ever after!!! Good Luck sweety and please don't pass a chance at keeping a friendship up.

I think that some people just get scared of where things are going and they freak out. They have a hard time with commitment. They'll break up with you, and then, realize later on what they gave up. You should tell her that you feel better now that you've told her how much she hurt you, and that you forgive her. But, tell her that you have moved on, like someone said before me, you don't want to do the same thing to another person that she did to you.....right? And, no, dating only on the computer is not a real relationship.

You say you "dated", do you mean only online, or in person? If it wasn't in person it wasn't dating and it wasn't love. It was infatuation. And you don't need to respond at all. It's over. Be happy with your girlfriend. Who is also only your girlfriend if you know her in person.

I say to tell her you're flattered but you've got someone else you're with. :)
