A CD drive will not read a DVD. If you have access to a PC with a DVD drive you could copy the files off the DVD and transfer them to your PC but this would not work if there is any copy protection. Why not just buy a DVD drive as they are cheap and easy to fit and you are likely to find more software which is released on DVD.

You *could* have someone with a dvd player copy all the files to CDs for you.

Then make a Folder on your computer and copy ALL the files to that Folder. Then try to install the program from that Folder.

Although, since it is an Installation DVD for a program, it may not work.

Also, the program MAY require the DVD to be in a drive when you run\play the program.

you could have a friend copy the stuff to a CDR (or as many as TWELVE CDRs, if it's a chock full double-layer DVD) for you to install it, as i did for my dad when he had no money to upgrade his PC....... but, you may as well get a DVD ROM drive. They cost next to nothing these days... seriously... I can get a dual layer dvd WRITER for about 29.99.... a regular disc reader can probably be had for 4.99 off ebay or in a computer repair shop's bargain bin.

(or you could network into a computer with such a drive, if you have networking ability)

however i would also check the program's minimum specs against your PC first. chances are that if it doesn't have DVD reading capability, then it is now in a class of machines marked "SERIOUSLY OLD" - i'm by no means rich, but i installed a combination DVD reader / CD writer in my PC about 4 years ago already, and most machines have been shipping with at least a reader since 5 - 6 years ago. Rather than just upgrading the drive then finding you have to change other things, you might be better to cut your losses and replace the entire PC.

(heck, i'm about to GIVE AWAY a PC with a DVDROM in it to a local childrens nursery as its just not worth any money any more)

You gotta get the dvd player. People are putting software and games onto DVD discs because they hold 4GB compared to a CD's lousy 800MB
