Does this mean you do 8 reps 4 times on one muscle group(e.g. biceps) or 8 reps on 4 different exercises.

I lift 2 days rest 1 day, lift 2 days rest 2 days. But I lift very heavy(8rep - 3 sets) focusing on each body part once a week. abs twice a week. e.g. biceps, triceps, back on day 1.

If you do not lift heavy, and are not sore you can take off as little as 1 day a week.

You should try working out your chest, triceps and shoulders one day. Day two, legs. Day 3 biceps and back. These muscle groups work together so that's why you split them up. Do 12 reps (if you can) per set. Do atleast 3 sets per exercise. You've got to give muscles time to heal. You can't work out the same muscle group 2 days in a row. You'll do nothing but hurt yourself in the long run with nothing but pain to show for it!!
