Sue them. I'm assuming they owe you the money and it's not money you want from them just because they are a lying moron. They may lie and be a moron, but if you can prove they owe you the money and haven't paid, the judgment will be in your favor. Also if they made any payment but didn't pay in full it is seen as them admitting they owe money to you. Don't forget to tack court expenses on to the end of their bill if you decide to do that. As an added bonus (I know this works here, but check the laws where you are just in case) if they don't show up the judgment should default in your favor as well. If you don't show up the judgment will default in their favor though, so no matter what make sure you (or if the state allows, your lawyer) show up. If the debt owed is for a relatively small amount you may just want to cut your losses and move on.
