Well, maybe your teacher didn't adequately explain what 'foreshadowing' is ... go back and read the story again, and place yourselfin the narrator's position. Remember: the narrator of this story is omniscient, so he knows about Homer and the room upstairs before you (the reader) know about it. Highlight any hints or clues in the narrator's words that indicate he knows about Homer's death. If you begin like this, it's a great start, and you should be able to do fine on this assignment.

Read it again. It's not a very long story. You should be able to pick this up easily if you're looking for it.
