1. Lincoln- Had the nerve to fight a war that other may not have (ie James Buchanan) and freed the slaves. This is coming from a southern boy by the way.
2. FDR- Led us through the depression and a two oceans war. This is coming from a big government hating conservative by the way.
3. George Washington- Only figure that could have united the 13 bickering colonies.

To the one who said maybe Kennedy, here is a joke I heard a few months back.

Do you think Kennedy was thinking I need another parade like I need another hole in my head?

I would need to agree with ABE LINCOLN. he stood by his convictions even though a large part of the counry hated him. he was also the first CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN. many of the issues that democrats say that republicans are ignoring were started by presidents such as TEDDY ROOSEVELT being the first environmentalist in office. He wasn't stupid though like the environmentalists are today. He believed in conserving wildlife, but not to the detrement of our way of life. he wouldn't have stopped commerce or housing developments because of some dum owl. Lincoln was the first civl rights activist. So to answer your question any president that has conservative values. Right now that would be Bush, although there are times he leans a little more liberal. but he is the lesser of two evils. REPUBLICANS '06

Based on all the stuff I've read, I'd say Ronald Reagan. 49 out of 50 states can't be wrong! The man ended the Cold War without firing a single shot. He managed to crack a couple jokes after being shot. I've NEVER heard of any other president having that much charisma.

George Washington or Thomas Jefferson they along with the other founding fathers had the insight to help set this country up, the only thing they left undone was a few amendments that would have protected us a little better like a amendment to keep big money out of lobbying and a amendment to keep voters independent and not allow parties.

I would say Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He kept getting reelected during World War II because he was such a good leader. Many people will agree with this. His response to Pearl Harbor was great, and he quickly deployed troops to start fighting those who attacked us. If we had a bad president, we would not have been able to win the war.

I think it was JFK with Bill Clinton a close second.
If We hadn't paid Special prosecuter Ken Starr millions of dollars to attempt to destroy him he could have accomplished much more than he did. The Whitewater investigation that somehow sunk to a low level of personal attacks took up too much of his time.
Why can't we get a special prosecuter to investigate Bush? He wouldn't have to attack his sex life because he is guilty of breaking so many laws and doing unconstitutional acts against the American and Iraqi people.

FDR...he got us out of the Greatest Economical Depression in the history of the US. Some of his reform ideals are still intact today...like the Social Security Act.
