Wide Awake is a 1998 film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. In this film about growing up, Joshua Beal (played by Joseph Cross) is a young boy who goes on a search for God after his grandfather dies. This film also features Julia Stiles in one of her earliest roles.
Josh seeks the help of his friend Dave and a baseball-loving nun (played by Rosie O'Donnell) in his search for a supreme being. The movie ends with Josh realizing what he has been looking for has been there all along.
