Me...
I sang the song as well... back in 1961...
I'd been put into care for doing nothing wrong... long story... but, I was locked off from the world totally and all the windows and doors were guarded by uniformed females with keys at their belts... the windows were all barred... and to this day I hate locked doors unless I have the key!
I spent a year and three weeks, with total loss of liberty... between fifteen and half, and sixteen and a half years of age...
The day I came out again it poured with torrential rain, in August... (see, nothing changes really) and my best friend and all the neighbours (who loved me knew I'd been treated badly by my parents laughed at me, because I ran through the downpour and completely soaked my summer dress as I skipped through deep puddles singing, "I'm singing in the rain, what a glorious feeeeeling... I'm freeee again..." because the freedom overwhelmed me!
and it was Gene Kelly... not Fred!

Oh Yes! It was a couple of winters ago. the weather Had broken at long last, ( as you can probably guess by that, I don't live in England) and it was throwing it down so hard it was impossible to know which part of me was wetter;the inside or the outside...
I felt like a young kid just let out of school after a rotten day and I scampered through the dark lanes and alleyways of the souk, singing and dancing my heart out.
One solitary (and quite rightly so, as I must have appeared cracked) white lady with an umbrella and wellingtons letting her hair down....
Just thinking about it lifts my spirits even now and in 46C heat that is saying something!

I and my boyfriend did when we drunk one year after a party for our anniversary, I think it was 5 years! We were walking through the park and it started to rain so we jumped in puddles and danced for no apparent reason. Not the best display of dancing skills you'll ever see!

I can't remember the last time I did it, but I love being in the rain. It feels so cleansing (in a different way than a shower). Usually if people can see me I won't dance, but I will stand there and let it bounce off my face.

Yes, during a summer down pour in Disney World, Florida , it was warm rain , the whole Jean Kelly routine, as I had learned it for a stage production. A moment in time to remember!

first time when I was about 12 yrs old, me and a bunch of friends danced in the street in the rain.
Second time with my husband on our front porch in the rain to our song, "Melt" by Rascal Flatts. It was sooooooo romantic!
