Go into the Trend Micro website and do a "house call" it is a free scan that detects and gets rid of spyware viruses, worms trojans etc. I had the same problem, AVG found something but could not get rid of it.
Housecall found it, killed it, plus a few other things that ad aware etc, did not see!

Do a search for the specific trojan, and more often than not, there will be a long work around which will eventually cure it. AVG still doesnt pick up about:blank bug which has been around for ages in different disguises, although it does lie and say it has healed it.

If AVG will detect it, does it give a name? You can search this on the Internet and hopefully find how to manually delete the Virus/Trojan.

If AVG can do nothing...You need to Quarrantine the virus...until such a time that you can get the right anti-virus software to get rid of it.

I use McAfee...Highly recommended.
