because it wasnt always opened 24/7. the name 7-11 comes from its store hours. 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. which used to be the longest any store was open.

In case of an emergency, like if there was a power outage, or if the store was robbed. Some stores have windows at night time and the doors are locked to prevent robbery in some places. It's possible that maybe only one person working and so they can lock the doors if they had to use restroom. I think the biggest reason being though that in case there was an emergency so that they can lock the doors.

What an interesting question,I never thought of that lol.I would think for the holidays when they have to close.Why do they call it 7/11?Shouldn't it be 24/7 lol.

Well I dont know about that cause the 7 11 near me closes at 11pm each night

When the building was built it was probably open 7-11 like it used to be! ( Hence the name 7-11 !?!)

During federal holidays or if the manager needs to take time off the store may close. Never say never.

The doors came with locks when they were bought, and it would take time to remove them all.
