hmm, don't really know why. like you said, it's just the greatest game on earth and to stop loving hockey is equal to stop breathing. but why? well, one can only tell by playnig and watching it, it's not something one can put into words but teh feeling hiockey can give has never been and will never be equalled by anything else. that's why i love hockey!
and because i'm canadian! so i wouldn't dare not loving hockey! ;)

I agree, it is the greatest, except, I wish they would get rid of the shootout. let them play until you have a winner.
It is the fastest game going. Baseball, football, basketball do not expend the energy a hockey players does...
Hockey isn't boring: baseball and the NFL can go on forever and can bore the life out of anyone.
Ron McLean, Bob Cole and Harry Neale are great commentators. Even Grapes has a good night now and then.
Hockey Night in Canada: need I say more?
The London Knights: one of the best junior teams around.

I love hockey because it is entertaining. I also love hockey because the players love hockey. The feeling that you get while watching a game is amazing and it's even better when you are AT the game.
The fans are so dedicated to the sport that you can just feel the energy in the arena.

Why do I love hockey? I could write a book on why I love hockey, I am 16 and play hockey everyday with my teammates and buddies. Hockey is not just a sport, its a culture if you really love the game. I am from Michigan and when the ponds frozen I play from sun up to sun down. Its not just playing hockey its the locker room and after the games with girls, drinkin on tourneys and workin out to be the best. I love hockey.

How can you not love hockey? I live in california, and it's the only sport I care to see... Football... yawn. Baseball... please. Nothing has the speed, skill, excitement or impact that hockey does! Plus... we got Joe Thornton, man!
Here's what I'm looking forward to...
Joe & Cheech with a full season together
Owen Nolan in Phoenix
Mike Grier as a shark (they've tried to get him for years)
Mark Bell turning in another career season only now as a shark
and the return of Alexander Korolyuk
Oh, and we get to boo chris pronger 4 times a year now, minimum!

I love the speed, skill and physical content of it. I can't find enough words to describe the game. It is all about hockey. I play and watch whenever I can. HOCKEY IS THE BEST GAME IN THE WORLD!!!

Hockey is the best sport because first and foremost one has to be a decent skater to be able to play. It is fast, no other sport compares with the speed of hockey. I love to skate, handle the puck and set up the best scoring opportunities.

I grew up with it so I think that's the main thing and Bobby Orr just was the topping on the cake. Yes, I think it's also the greatest game despite the NHL and the idiots who run it.
