I was over at my boyfriend's house and I had my daily BC pill in my pocket to take at the usual time I take it everyday - somehow I lost it, and so I told him to keep an eye out for it, but I'm worried about his dog eating it. Is it going to be harmful to him if he finds it and eats it?

The dog is a large mutt. :)

And it's not a matter of if I MISS a pill, I have more. I was more concerned with the health of the animal.

No it won't hurt the dog, might give the dog a little tummy ache, but will probably go rith through him/her. 1 BC pill shouldn't have any long term effects because it was only one pill, however, over a period of prolonged use (if someone was giving a dog BC pills to prevent heat cycles or control heats) it will cause irriversable damage, and make your dog more syseptible to reproductive tract tumors. If it is female, it definitely could. Female dog's repro tract could be through off and if intact, I would worry about a life threatening uterine infection (pyometra), if not intact that is still a concern, but less so. Male less likely, but it would not be a bad idea to have your vet consult with animal poison control and get baseline bloodwork. Estrogen based pills could mess with the bone marrow. Its better to be safe than sorry.

If the dog is a lab, it probably did eat it, they eat everything!

No one pill will not bother a dog, their stomachs can take much worse things than that with no problem.
