Should Lebanon and Israel be charged with war crimes or crimes against humanity due to the heavy lost of innocent civilian life involving this conflict? Most Q & A responses were, "No." This is what I read this morning while checking my email.

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Standing in the midst of the rubble of south Beirut, Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora called the Israeli bombing campaign "a crime against humanity."

It is a crime against humanity, BUT for both Israel and Lebanon. There are 3 sides to every story. Israel's, Lebanon's, and the truth. One more thing. Hezbollah. Terrorists to some. Heros to others. It's like having a drug dealer take up residence in your house. You've been warned repeatedly by the cops that if you don't disassociate yourself from this person, the cops are gonna raid your house. You don't listen, the cops all but annihilate your house, then you complain? That's how I see it with Lebanon housing the Hezbollah. Your thoughts please.

It's a good question- but I think no.

Frankly- I don't see these deaths as war crimes, but rather just 'war'. True there were civilian casualties, but Israel dropped leaflets over the neighborhoods telling the civilians to leave. I guess that's as good as can be expected. Course then some were killed in the process of leaving. I can only assume that that was an accident - as it has only negative political outcome.

Hizbollah also killed civilians- mostly by firing rockets at Israel into civilian territories with the intent of killing civilians.

Morally- I still see Israel with the moral upper hand, as they are fighting for survival of their country, whereas Hizbollah's mission is to destroy the state of Israel. Israel has no desires to take over the territory of and kill its neighbors. The same cannot be said of Syria, Hizbollah, the Palestinians, Iran, and about 12 other surrounding arab nations.

Given the heavy loss of civilian life in Iraq, for potentially less gain, perhaps the US (or rather Bush) should be charged?

We are human. We will always wage war.
Someone lives in your house and helps pay the bills. That someone happens to be a gangsta. You own the house, you know sooner or later your house is going to get torn up if you don't disassociate yourself. What do you do?
