Kinda.Lot of good stuff in the 70's too. But yea, early to mid 90's there was a ton of great bands still, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains,STP,Nirvana,Candlebox, just to name a few, all bands with thier own, unique sound. Now all i hear is noise for the most part. Bands all sound the same now. Or maybe I got old? lol

No. The 80's & 90's had a few good bands/artists and a few good songs. But the best music came from the 70's and pre 70's eras.............back when people actually had to sing to get a record label and their music on the radio. Like I said though there were a few good bands out of the 80's & 90's i.e. nirvana, weezer, ......i'm sure there were a few more but they are slipping my mind right now. And there are a couple good sounds coming up.....we've really got to keep our minds and ears open for these.

A revolution in the world of music was made starting from the mid 50s to the first half of the 80s in America and elsewhere around the world.

I completely disagree. I was born in 1986. I think the best music came out in the mid to late sixties. The seventies were okay (minus disco) It's not even a matter of opinion on certain levels. Musically, a lot of sixties music was better. What the heck happened to harmony and melody...out the window I guess.. Today's music lacks a lot of its qualities. AND.... A lot of garbage came out of the 80's and 90's. There were a few good bands at best.

As much as I love the music from this time period, I think the music of the 50's was much more influential to music overall. 80's & erly 90's is WAY better than the junk we have now, though!

Agree with some of the others who posted here.
The 50s and 80s were the defining periods.

80's music is the worst trash I have ever heard in my life. 90's music wasn't all that great either. Hair bands make me want to claw my own eyes out. And that's all I have to say about that. :)

Those were some of the best years of my life (so far), so it stands to reason that the "soundtrack" to that period of my life is more memorable. I frequented dance clubs in those days, so the music (Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242) I heard then brings back powerful memories.
