Hi, There used to be a motorcycle magazine called used bike guide ( UBG) , it used to list prices for motorcycles ( including RG 250) . The last time I bought it was about two years ago , so I am not sure if you can still buy it , I used to get it from W H Smiths. I own an RG 250 myself and they're a great bike and lots of fun.

you might get 500 or less, offer it for 500 and hook it as a 20 year old bike classifies as classic insurance
