By which I mean a plan of action to take in any eventuality to remove yourself from danger in you home (such as a natural disaster) I always have a light-weight packed up sack with tent, sleeping bag, water, food and clothes and other survival equipment.
I just wanted to know if anyone else out there was as weird as me.

I got MRE's and water for 3 people for 2 weeks. Fuel to take me 1000 miles. I got meds. I've got ammo for the weapons. If we run out of food we'll hunt. I don't have every thing but it's a start

Absolutely, I keep a hurricane relief box in our garage... I have bottled water, can foods, crackers, batteries, flashlights, a blanket, dog food, emergency kit, and a map... when they announce their is going to be a hurricane on the island, I pack up 3 days in advance and get out of dodge till its over...

Up until a year ago, I would have thought it was a little paranoid,.
But living in Louisiana, I now have a backpack stuffed with necessities for everyone in my home and made one to take over to my mother in laws as well. I even made one for our dogs which I think is perfectly normal, but I have been teased about it.

I think you are well repaired. I haven't had any survival things since Y2K... it's certainly a good idea. Hopefully you will never need these things, but It's good to be repaired!

Tents and sleeping bags wouldn't be much use during a hurricane (Floridian here.) I have a survival plan, but not an escape plan.

Yes. I go through it with my daughter (3). When my youngest is old enough, she will learn it too. I think that most people don't have one because they don't think it will happen to them.
