A repost, but will answer your question...(just change CD to DVD)

Yes, a common problem.
Music CD's play fine on a CD player. But, some CD's have programs added to them so that when you put them into a PC, it will take you to a website of the band.

If you do not know how to get around the added programs using Windows Media Player, you can use other software.
