the Blues Brothers (1980)....with songs like Shake Your Tailfeather by Ray Charles and Think by Aretha Franklin... virtually every song on that album has got you up and movin'! It's the songlist that other "musicals" could only dream of having.

As far as instrumental/classically-themed movie soundtracks go...I love the Field of Dreams soundtrack! Course I loved the movie too. But the music was a very important part of the ambience that that movie created. It just moves me more than any other...

I would say the best soundtrack albums I have heard are the Trainspotting soundtrack and the Pulp Fiction one.
Anything with Iggy Pop (trainspotting) and the opening music from Pulp Fiction is great.

Good question! Had to think about that! In the 80's, I listened to Footloose every day!! But I think if I chose a more modern one, the soundtrack I like today is the one from Austin Powers Goldmember. I am into 70's music- alot. City of Angels is good when you feel romantic, though.
