Yes I do - the last time I did that the person in question was very keen to make a good impression on me, and as he was good-looking and successful I was flattered. But after that the wires got crossed ... he thought he was going to score and I thought I was getting a nice compliment, and later realised that I am not available ... since then he has not been at all friendly, so I am no longer favourably impressed ... in fact, I would probably not talk to him at all if I met him now, because I think he's acting like a spoilt child.

Because I know it is wrong to make judgements based on first impressions, I try very hard not to. So if a first impression pops in my head I try to look for something in that person which disproves that first impression. Strangely, however much I try to tailor my thoughts one way, I usually find that my lasting impression of someone is quite close to my first impression. I don't know whether that makes me intuitive or shallow, probably shouldn't ask.......

I meet a lot of people, and for purely practical reasons I have to make up my mind about them pretty quickly.
But I do not judge people by first impressions and certainly not by outwardly appearances only. I usually look into their eyes and at their faces first and do a character assessment by "reading" the face. And usually I am not wrong with my opinion, although there are times when I have to add to first impressions or re-assess a few details.

not very often , i have always believed that un inner voice is your best guide but u have to be wise enough when u use it this is why i don't usually judge people from the first sight , i like to get to know them more so that i don't make wrong judgments ... besides , first impressions aren't always effective ... u could look to someone and think of him as a gloomy and unhappy person , while he could actually just having a bad day or didn't get enough sleep ... that's why i insist on the idea of knowing people well before making any judgments so that we won't regret it later on ...

there is something like ...the first impression is the best impression...stuff which i have heard somewhere ....but that is not always true, but i wud like to state that for the very first time wen u set ur eyes on any1 for the initial few seconds u feel something within u ...a gut feeling / a haunch regarding the person...whether he or she is good / nice or not...i think we shud try n listen to that insticnt ....which is usually right.

All the time! Someone I thought was going to be a stuck up cow the first time we met, ended up becoming my best friend!
She was just ina bad mood that day because of something her boyfriend had done.
People's moods change all the time, so you can't really go on what you see the first time you meet them.

I misjudged a fellow by his appearance just yesterday. But after a few minutes' conversation my opinion changed from very negative to very positive. This has happened to me more often than I care to admit.
I have also "fallen in love" with someone only to discover that we were not in the least suited.
I think we all do this.

My first impressions are usually right. I've never met anyone who has surprised me by turning out to be a better/worse person than I believed.
