Ignore the answer about the 32 age limit, it's rubbish!

We are looking to relocate to NZ sometime soon and have been looking into all the information we need regarding doing so. There will be an Expo in London and Manchester in October where there will be people from NZ Immigration who will be able to answer your questions. There will also be many companies there who are looking for skilled workers....

Check it out at:

You should be able to. I believe electricians are on the Job Shortage list at the moment. This list is available on the Immigration website. Also check with the ERWB (Electrical Registration Workers Board), as you may have to do a couple of short courses to become registered in New Zealand. Be aware that if you are on a work permit, and if you are asked to undertake a short course, you will have to pay the International students fee. This is a non-subdisied fee, whereas NZ students pay the domestic rate, in which the govt subdised's it.
Good luck!
