Okay then...How can I have multiple beta's then? Have a lesbo colony?

Ok b*tch, I know two will fight - everyone knows that. I don't know what happens when you have multiple fish. That's why I'm asking.

If you are wanting to breed bettas I would suggest that you place on male per tank for at least a week then place a female. The male if he is wanting to breed will build a bubble nest. Suggestion is that you take a styrophome cup and cut if in half long ways. Place it in the tank so that the betta can build the nest in it. Allow it to float on top. After the male betta builds the nest he will mate with the female and gather the eggs and place them in the nest. He then will stand gaurd over the nest and the female will no long be needed so you will need to remove her before he kills her. The male will tend to the nest until the babies are big enough. The babies when first born or at least while they are still little will need special food that you will need to grow for them. There mouths are so small that they cannot eat flakes in any form for a while. Here is a site to help you.

You're obviously asking because you know they fight each other, you're a jackass. I hope the pet store sees through you and doesn't sell you any more than one.

They WILL kill each other. Sad, but true. Even if they are in separate tanks and can still see each other they will to go after one another. They have to be kept separate.
