Our skin is exposed to a lot of dirt and grime from the environment. These pollutants also collect in the pores with hardened oil. This causes the pores to be further clogged.
Blackheads occur when the trapped sebum and bacteria partially open to the surface. The clogged oil oxidizes with the air and turns black. The clogged contents may remain for very long as it takes a long time to drain to the surface.
Blackheads are very commonly found in the area across your forehead and down your nose and chin (also known as T-zone). Sebaceous glands on this area of the face are very, very active. However they can also occur on other areas of the face, neck, chest, back, shoulder, even arms – any area that is rich in sebaceous glands.
how to remove:
1. Try not to touch your face...it's a hard habit to break but dirt, oil, and germs will get into your face and block your pores.
2. A common myth is that if you have oily skin, you should not moisturise it. This is wrong. If you have oily skin, you need to moisturize it, because if you do not, your skin will produce more oil to compensate. Try a good oil-free moisturizer, or Enzymion (from Lush). This is fast-acting and the fruit enzymes in it break down oil on the skin's surface- no more shiny noses!
3. Biore and Clean & Clear are good products. Try Clean & Clear Black head scrub and Biore nose strips.
4. When you use a nose strip wet your nose with a clean face cloth and then dry your hands.
5. After that open the packet that the nose strip is in, and rip the little tabs for a better fit on your nose.
6. Put the sticky side on your nose and wait for around 10 minutes.
7. After 10 minutes (I suggest that timing) the nose strip should be hard paper mache. Remove it.

I'd use the pore strips to get rid of the ones that currently exist (or squeeze them out but be sure not to scar the skin) You can soften some using sweet oil (made for ears). But to prevent them I use a clay mask twice weekly and stick to a regular skin care program.

squeezing them, but just making sure i get all of the spot out. I'll then put some TCP ointment on it to makes sure it goes. If you have a lot of blackheads, steam your face to open your pores then it;s easier to squeeze them
