does anyone actual like them they never shut up and one of my friends caught on fire they were the toys of my child hood yet they sucked !!!

My husband bought a couple of them on e-bay for our kids - they are now shut in the garage and are still yakking away to each other!

Well it must be true, God does work in mysterious ways! I have a Gremlin, and wanted a Furby because they looked like a talking Gremlin, never got one..... and after reading these messages seems like I didn't miss anything! Hope you friend didn't get hurt in the fire. Think the Gremlins must be related though.... your Furby question ended up under Books and Authors!!!! A final revenge on you???

i had one of the original ones and loved it. For a few months anyway. Then I got bored of it. So I gave it to my nan because her cat had just died and she was lonely. But stupidly, I didn't show her how it worked, so later that night she phoned up and asked me how to 'shut the blasted thing up'. To this day that's the closest my nan has ever come to swearing!

It is a very very annoying toy my daughter had 1 and i told my wife either the furbie goes or i do.The stupid woman kicked the furbie out grrrrrrrrr

I had one when I was little - you had to teach it English. I loved it, but got sick and tired with it - it did my head in. I threw it across the room and it kept yakking away. My mother took the batteries out - it was the best thing she had ever done - I am still grateful now.

My kids had them I just took the batteries out when they did my head in. Then they got hidden on top of my wardrobe.

When they first came out they were impossible to get. Yet I spent Hours and hours searching for one for my daughter for Christmas. She never played with it. Guess she agrees with you.

Yes, they're dumb. I have no idea why they were so popular, other than people hording and selling them at inflated prices for a fast buck.
