Yes, people make money out of war. The biggest money makers are the Anti-War-Groups.
Anti-War-People love war. That's the only time they can make millions and millions.

Of course people make money off of war.... The US economy ALWAYS gets stronger during a war, and the entire nation prospers. I am making money off the War in Iraq as we speak, and plenty of it. Does that make me a bad person? I think not. I did not want to go to war, but here we are, and I would be a fool to pass up an opportunity to profit when the chance arises. As for songs about the war, some of those people are, I'll admit, using feelings of patriotism to sell their albums, which is morally wrong. However, there are just as many who, in all likelihood, feel exactly as they portray themselves in their music, which is freedom of expression. Unfortunately, there's no way to know for certain, so you have to judge for yourself. Don't think someone's sincere about their desire to 'support the troops'? Don't buy their music. Write an opinion and send it into the major papers. Stage a boycott. Hand out flyers. I can tell you from past experience, however, that as a soldier, it helps to hear the voices of those who are supporting you, even when you yourself don't believe in what you are fighting for. It lightens the burden just a bit, and makes it easier to do what you have to do, so there are two sides to that coin. It sounds like you want to end all wars; it isn't possible. I hate to say it, but from what I know of people, human nature is such that there will always be fighting, either until a nuclear holocaust or the coming of Jesus, whichever comes first.

I don't think that kids start to think that war is cool because of the songs. There are games, movies, cartoons etc. but the songs are mostly against it. Protest singers etc. (the ones that come out in war times)
Coming to your question: YES people make money out of war. The war industry around the world earns a lot of money out of wars. Many countries take advantage of the countries that are in war.

yeah unfortunately there is money in war, lot's of money, if you really think about we could go through wars right now without ever having to lose any of our people in it really because we have the technology to be able to send all automated machines over there, planes that we could fly by controllers at another location all the way across the world, other countries don't have the technology or the capabilities to do this but some of them do, so it makes you wonder why so many people are sent to die, I don't wonder anymore, I know, oh and don't click on any of big nasty truckers links, it is most likely a virus or some irritating pop up

People have been singing about war since the beginning of time.
How old are you? You only hear songs about this war?

Do you doubt that those who led America into war are making (or will make once out of office) handsome recompense?
Is not the Military Industrial Complex prone to reward those who have made them what they are today?
What boards of directors will Cheney and Bush join when they leave office? How many billions of dollars will they get?
We learned from what the Japanese did for Reagan that, should we be President, we should be nice to those in a position to rewared us once out of office.
For the rest: it's chickenfeed: except for those like Ann Coulter who make their living from bile and bullets.

Money is made by arms dealers, oil speculators, construction companies, security companies - and those are just the obvious ones. War is very profitable - after all, does Bush care about all the soldiers he's having killed so he can make a killer profit?

Yes! Look at Bush and Cheney. They have both profited from the war. Bush with the incredible oil prices and Cheney in re-constructing Iraq.
