Imagine was not a Beatles song. It was a John Lennon song, recorded after the breakup.

I would agree with the guy above who picked the a cappella version of 'Because' from Abbey Road (also listen for the harmonies behind the guitar work on 'The End')

Other interesting vocal combinations to be found on their records:

'Paperback Writer' - the 3-pronged intro refrain, which is repeated throughout the whole song

'Good Day Sunshine' (from 'Revolver')

'This Boy' (on 'Past Masters Vol. 1')***

'Yes It Is' (on 'Past Masters Vol. 1')***

'If I Fell' ('A Hard Day's Night')

'I Should Have Known Better' ('A Hard Day's Night')

'You've Really Got A Hold On Me' (their Smokey Robinson cover - the nicest version is off the 'Live At The BBC' album)

NOT HARMONIES, BUT GREAT VOCAL PERFORMANCES ANYWAY:

McCartney's 'scatting' over the 'Hey Jude' refrain

'You Know My Name' - hilarious performances from J, P & R

***Both these tracks are little-known, but show really superb harmony work.

PS - Sorry, just watched the clip - you already know about 'This Boy' - my apologies!

My choice would be While My Gitar Gently Wheeps written by George Harrison. It also demonstrate the Beatles ability of to harmonize.

But there is so many of their songs that do the same thing. In the end it all come to which one of them is your personal favourite.

Without any doubt it's 'Because' from the album Abbey Road. If you doubt what I say just listen to the track. There's also an acapella version of the track available on bootlegs which is even more awesome.
