If tomorrow starts without me & I’m not there to see. If the sun should rise & find your eyes, all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today. While thinking of the many things, we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you.
& each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand. That an angel came & called my name & took me by the hand. & said my place was ready in heaven far above. & that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly loved. But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye, For all my life, I’d always thought, I didn’t want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones & the bad I thought of all that we shared & all the fun we had.

con't.

If I could relive yesterday just even for a while I’d say goodbye & kiss you & maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized, that this could never be. For emptiness & memories would take the place of me.
& when I thought of worldly things, I might miss some tomorrow, I thought of you & when I did my heart was filled with sorrow
But when I walked through heaven’s gates I felt so much at home. When God looked down & smiled at me from his great golden throne. He said, “This is eternity & all I’ve promised you” Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last. & since each day is the same way, there’s no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me don’t think were far apart. For every time you think of me I’m right here in your heart.

I wrote this poem the last night my mother was alive. I was 21. She was on morphine in respite care, it was one o'clock in the morning, and i was all alone with her, just waiting for the worst moment of my life to happen...
For the record, I wrote 2 poems that night. I've never written anything before, and have never been able to write again, I guess this was just something that had to come out...

As i lay here watching you,
I know the end is near.
You seem to be at peace with that,
as long as we are near...

For all the years you cared for me,
I'd like to say thank-you,
I just wish that there was something now,
anything I could do...

To know that you are comfortable,
Helps put my mind at rest.
You deserve to be peacefull now,
you've done your very best...

As hard as it is, to say goodbye,
I know it's the only way.
I understand we've had our time,
but there's so much i want to say.

Remember the good times, forget the rest.
That's what I'm gonna do.
There's one thing I'll remember most,
and that's my love for you...

OoOOO!!! I have a poem done by yours sincerely..and HEY! It did bring my mom to tears!! :)
----

Mummy mummy dearest!

Happy birthday today,
But before you sleep I have something to say.

“For each year to come,
Your white hair number more than some.
So for the coming of years,
Be jubilant with tears,
When seeing you’ve done your job
Bringing us up with smiles and sobs.

We thank you for your guidance
And teaching us with patience,
For no other would bother
Being a better mother!

So as this day is about to end,
We, like flowers you need to tend.
Enjoy the reward of watching us grow,

Whatever happens in the future,
You have done your part to nurture.

So thank you for what you have done,
I have nothing else that I want,
For a mother coming fifty,
It’s great loving to be thrifty
For the heart to save for us,
It’ll be a memory long to last”

So here I end my thoughts,
I have only to say I ought
To wish you a happy
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Sincerely from your son,
My poem is finally done.

I've not read a poem that moved me but I've heard a poem that my daughter wrote for her dad's funeral mass that she read in front of the concregation that moved me into tears and the other people who were in attendance. As she read this her cousin was standing next to her to read Psalm 1 which was My husband's favorite and he too was crying as she read it and he then had a hard time doing his. Also I had a nephew who wrote a song cause my husband made kites and he song it too and still had the people crying so it is not just a poem it can be anything.
the poem goes like this:

How can you say Good-Bye to a person??

We have to say good-bye to amand this day,
Though I'm curious
How do you say good-bye to a husband?
Or the children's father whom they love so much.

How can you say Goodbye,
How can you expect them to travel on day after day...?
How can you just do it?

How can you say good bye to your brother,
Or even the uncle to your cousins?
Even that cousin who plays ball with you, how do you
say good bye to that?
How can you say good bye to that godson who's the
jewel in your eye.

Just lifting your hands in a wave,
Or a hug that does not cut it.
You can't kiss him on the cheek,
And expect a return.
You can't even say I love you,
And hear I love you too.
You just can't say good-bye,
Not with tears falling from everyone's face.
You can't say good-bye, you just can't.

How do you say good-bye?
When it's finalized,
That this is the good-bye?
It take the pagan words I believe in
Merry part 'till we meet again,
For it's the only good-bye I believe in.

As I was writing this for you tears are flowing cause this is so fresh to me since it has only been since November 6, 2005 which was 1 day after we celebrated Thanksgiving with the family early on his request to do so.
If you would like the song I will write that later cause I have to get ready to go to my husband's Family reunion.
